The figo Web Banking App is no longer available!
figo GmbH has deactivated the figo Web Banking App (previously available at: https://home.figo.me). The functions of the Web Banking App are no longer available as of now.
This measure was taken against the backdrop of the new Payment Services Supervision Act (Zahlungsdiensteaufsichtsgesetz – ZAG) and our regulation as a payment institution at the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht – BaFin) since August 2018 (see blog post).
In recent months, figo has been developing a new product that meets the requirements of the new ZAG. This new product is aimed exclusively at figo’s partner companies that use figo to integrate banking data and functions into their own services. figo is not planning to develop its own banking frontend.
What does that mean for me?
a) Did you use the figo web app to use account data in a partner service or to trigger payments from the partner service?
Please contact your partner service to find out what the next steps are for you. Each figo partner has its own schedule for the transition to the new figo product. As soon as the new connection is available to you, you will have to reconnect the partner service with figo. If you have any questions about the exact process, please contact the partner service provider.
b) Did you only use the figo web app without connecting your account to a partner?
Since we have discontinued the figo web app and are not offering a replacement, you will have to use a different service from now on.
What happens to my data?
With the deactivation of the figo web app, all data relating to your financial ID is automatically deleted. For regulatory reasons, it is unfortunately not possible to transfer your data for further use within the scope of the new figo product.
